Durbar Projonmo (দুর্বার প্রজন্ম) — meaning “The Indomitable Generation” — is more than just a name; it's a promise to stand beside the helpless, uplift the underprivileged, and rewrite the story of social responsibility in Kishoreganj, Bangladesh.
Founded on August 5, 2024, by a group of passionate young changemakers, Durbar Projonmo began as a grassroots initiative with a simple mission: to serve the people, especially those whom society often overlooks — the poor, the disabled, the orphaned, the sick, and the hopeless.
In just a few months, the organization has emerged as a symbol of solidarity and service. What started with a flood relief donation drive during the Feni crisis has quickly grown into a multi-dimensional platform tackling some of the most urgent community needs. From distributing Eid gift packages and winter blankets to running blood donation camps, medicine distribution programs, free blood group tests, and educational support initiatives, Durbar Projonmo has touched hundreds of lives.
One of its most inspiring projects, the “Self-Reliance Initiative,” offers livestock like goats, ducks, and hens to financially struggling families, helping them become economically stable through sustainable means. Another beautiful project, “Oushodh Bondhu,” ensures regular free medicine for those who can’t afford it.
The organization also believes that true change begins with empowerment. With that belief, it has launched education scholarships, library programs, and even community sports tournaments like the Durbar Cricket League to foster youth engagement.
Durbar Projonmo’s strength lies in its volunteers — young, dedicated, and driven by empathy. These volunteers don’t just show up; they lead. They bring warmth during winter, joy during Eid, and hope during hardship.
“We are not here to be heroes,” says the founder Mahfuzur Rahman Sohag. “We are here to be human.”
